Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland might only be a tenth of the size of England, but its diminutive size belies its many attractions

There’s breathtaking scenery along the Causeway Coast, from cliffs and sandy coves to amazing rock formations. The most famous is the Giant’s Causeway, an extraordinary headland of interlocking basalt columns.

Further afield you’ll find Belfast’s handsome Victorian buildings and fine restaurants; the 17th-century walls of Londonderry; idyllic countryside dotted by forests and ruined castles; the mountains of Mourne; and Lough Neagh, the largest lake in the British Isles.

Thanks to Northern Ireland’s size, all these sites are within easy striking distance of each other, making this a wonderfully varied and rewarding holiday destination.
