Vik

The coastal town of Vik on the south side of the island is probably the most visited place outside of Reykjavik. It’s popularity has grown hugely due to it’s black beaches being captured on film and TV. The Black Sand Beach is stunning but it's not your typical beach, you definitely can't swim there, the waves are far too aggressive and have claimed many lives. There is also a plane wreckage on the beach, but please beware it is a 5 mile round trip to see it.
