Andy Abraham has come from humble beginnings. Working as a refuse collector and bus driver before finding fame and fortune, Andy holds a natural charm reminiscent of the greatest soul and swing stars in history. Andy came to prominence entering ITV ’s X Factor in 2005. After wowing the judges with his rendition of ’Greatest Love of All’ in the first round he was selected by Sharon Osbourne to progress through to the show’s final stages. Andy astounded audiences and didn’t fall into the bottom two throughout the entire series. His incredible voice and stage presence brought life to numbers such as ‘Me and Mrs Jones’, ‘I Have Nothing’, ‘Easy Lover’, and ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ taking him into the X Factor final, where he finished runner-up to Shayne Ward.Following this experience, Andy continued his musical quest releasing his debut album entitled, ‘The Impossible Dream’ in 2006. Andy reached number two on the UK Album Chart selling an astounding 176,000 copies in the first week, leading to Platinum certification. Dubbed the ‘voice of the people’, Andy is a soulful singer who performs searing soul numbers. The ideal addition to corporate events, weddings, and erudite musical performances, as a solo artist, Andy Abraham, is an unrivalled headliner. Eventually the band went their separate ways until in 1996 they relaunched the New Union Gap with Tom Harding on bass guitar and lead vocals. They were an instant success on the 60s circuit playing all the major festivals, theatres and holiday centres throughout the UK. The boys have worked extensively to put together a repertoire of classic songs from the 60s to 90s, which they perform either in the original form or in their own unique style – many of which appear on their albums This Time Around, Classics and By Request.
