Join us on this exclusive holiday including escorted excursions by coach (or boat) to: Thames Cruise from the hotel to Windsor Castle for a guided tour plus cream tea cruise back; London’s fascinating Temple Area founded by the Knight’s Templar in the 12th century and lunch; Cliveden Estate – former home of America’s richest man, William Waldorf Astor and setting for key events of the notorious Profumo affair; picturesque Henley on Thames and a visit to a local vineyard for a tasting. We stay at The Runnymede on Thames, a hotel of the Warner Reserve collection and enjoy a sparkling reception and dinner with wine followed by entertainment each evening.
Itinerary
- Check in from 3pm. Welcome sparkling reception with your Tour Manager before dinner with wine in the hotel followed by entertainment.
- A full-day beginning with a Thames Cruise to Windsor for a visit to The Castle, the official residence of His Majesty the King and the oldest inhabited castle in the world. Later in the afternoon a cream tea is included on the return Thames cruise downriver to the hotel. Dinner with wine and entertainment in the hotel.
- Today’s excursion takes us to London’s Square Mile and a guided walking tour of the fascinating Temple area – founded by the Knight’s Templar in the 12th century, with lunch in Middle Temple’s sensational double hammerbeam roofed dining hall. Dinner with wine and entertainment in the hotel. Secret London – August 2026 Same as above, except lunch will be at an alternative venue as Middle Temple dining hall is closed during our visit.
- A charming day along the Thames visiting the elegant and historic estate of Cliveden with its Italianate Mansion and beautifully landscaped gardens, followed by a visit to Henley-on-Thames with free time to explore and obtain lunch. Our day out ends with a visit to a local vineyard for a tour and tasting. Dinner with wine and entertainment in the hotel

The Runnymede on Thames sits directly on the banks of the river, near Windsor and just a 40 minute train ride from Central London. A riverside retreat where relaxation and luxury come together.

Made for the single traveller these rooms are 13 sqm in size and come with a double bed and all the facilities of a standard room. Limited availability.
*Please note that the beds are what are known as ‘zip and link’ so when made up for twin they are the main bed size divided into two.
