Join us on a festive extravaganza in Yorkshire where we can experience the atmosphere of the Christmas Markets and discover the story of Chocolate in York, enjoy a leisurely Christmas lunch cruise whilst gliding through the Dales along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and explore beautiful Harewood House in all its finery dressed for Christmas. We take a train ride over the iconic Ribbleshead viaduct on the Carlisle – Settle line and jump the queues to enjoy the indulgence of afternoon tea at Bettys. We stay at historic 4-star Warner Nidd Hall, close to Knaresborough and Harrogate, where we have a sparkling reception and included wine with dinner, live entertainment every night and extensive leisure facilities to enjoy.

Itinerary

  • Check-in from 3pm. Welcome sparkling reception with your Tour Manager before dinner with wine followed by entertainment at the hotel.
  • A full day excursion including a canal cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool canal drifting by the beautiful Yorkshire Dales while enjoying a 3 Course Christmas Lunch followed by a visit to Harewood House, one of the Treasure Houses of England which will be ‘dressed’ for Christmas! Dinner with wine and entertainment at the hotel.
  • Full day in York including a guided walking tour, a visit to York’s Chocolate Story to discover the history of Chocolate in the city (and a tasting or two!) and free time to enjoy the atmosphere of the city’s Christmas markets. Dinner with wine and entertainment at the hotel.
  • A full day excursion starting with a journey from Appleby to Settle on the spectacular Carlisle to Settle railway line, followed by some time to explore the Spa Town of Harrogate and we jump the queues for an indulgent afternoon tea at Bettys Tea Room. Dinner with wine and entertainment at the hotel.
  • Check out of hotel by 10am Note:At Bettys Tea Room, we will dine in the Imperial Room which is on the first floor with no lift access. Order of excursions may be subject to change depending on local conditions.

Built in the 18th century by a wealthy Bradford wool merchant, Nidd is rumoured to be the place that Edward VIII met Wallis Simpson at a party. Nidd Hall is in 45 acres of grounds with award winning gardens surrounded by spectacular Yorkshire countryside. The hotel includes a pool, sauna and steam room available for use by all guests. An ideal retreat for relaxing after a day visiting the delights that the area has to offer.

All bedrooms have: En-suite bathroom, towels, free Wi-Fi, TV, hairdryer, safe, comfy chairs and reading lights and tea & coffee making facilities with biscuits.

Standard Room – from £959pp – All rooms are located on ground, 1st and 2nd floors – no lift, some rooms on ground floor are accessed by a couple of steps). Sole occupancy of twin or double from £975.

Signature Room – from £999pp – All the amenities of the standard room with the added extras as listed under the Signature experience. Always a favourite with our guests. On request, subject to availability.
