Itinerary

  • Mid-morning escorted departure from St Pancras on the direct train to Amsterdam arriving mid-afternoon. Or fly from your chosen airport to Amsterdam. On arrival transfer to the MS Verdi. Dinner, free drinks and entertainment on board. Overnight in Amsterdam.
  • Early morning we commence our cruise from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, arriving early afternoon. Rotterdam is a major port city renowned for its modern architecture following reconstruction after WWII, and its historic 17th-century Delfshaven neighbourhood, home to canal side shopping and Pilgrim Fathers Church where pilgrims worshipped before sailing to America. You may like to visit The Maritime Museum’s vintage ships and exhibits which trace the city’s seafaring history. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure, or join our optional guided walking tour. Dinner, free drinks and entertainment on board. Overnight in Rotterdam.
  • Early morning we cruise the short distance to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kinderdijk. Famous for its 19 windmills, Kinderdijk is an icon of seven centuries of Dutch people’s valiant efforts to live on and cultivate their low-lying lands. Enjoy a guided walking and boat tour along the windmills with entrance to the historic Wisboom pumping station and the oldest mill on site where you will meet one of the millers and visit the exhibition barn. We return to the ship and set sail for Hoorn arriving after dinner. Dinner, free drinks and entertainment on board. Overnight in Hoorn.
  • Morning at leisure in Hoorn. During lunch we sail to the lovely town of Enkhuizen, an important port in the 17th century used by the Dutch East and West India Companies for their travels and trade before Amsterdam took over as the major trade hub. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure, or join our optional visit of the Zuiderzee outdoor museum – step back in time, see, hear, feel, taste and smell daily life around the Zuiderzee before the Afsluitdijk turned this sea into a lake – the IJsselmeer – in 1932. Dinner, free drinks and entertainment on board. Overnight in Enkuizen.
  • Early morning we cruise to Amsterdam arriving during breakfast. Here we join the coach for the included excursion to Keukenhof. A packed lunch is included on this excursion. These world-famous gardens are where more than 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over 32 hectares with colour and fragrance. You can even cruise through the bulbfields in electric powered ‘whisper boats’ (not included). Return to Amsterdam early to mid afternoon for time at leisure. Those who do not want to visit Keukenhof can remain in Amsterdam. Dinner, free drinks and entertainment on board. Overnight in Amsterdam.
