Christmas in Bristol and Bath

Itinerary

• Day 1
  Make your own way to Bristol and day at leisure - You’ll make your own way to Bristol set on the Avon River in the southwest of England. Upon arriving at the luxury hotel on the outskirts of the city, you’ll check in* and have time to settle in and unwind, perhaps with a treatment at the state-of-the-art spa. This evening, a three-course dinner will be served at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant. *Check in time is from 3pm.
• Day 2
  Christmas Eve - Included tour of Bristol and free time for Christmas shopping - After breakfast, you’ll get on the coach for the quick journey into the heart of Bristol. Here, you’ll be joined by an expert local guide, who'll show you around some of the city's most famous sights. Walk along the city's canals, which will be dressed in festive fairy lights, and take in the SS Great Britain, designed by the great Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. You'll also have time to browse the historic St. Nicholas Market and see the city's towering Gothic Cathedral before heading to Cabot Circus where you'll have the rest of the afternoon free to spend as you see fit. If you haven't already, why not enjoy a spot of last-minute Christmas shopping, or perhaps visit Vintage Winter Wonderland in Millennium Square?  The coach will then return via the Clifton Observatory for views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, an iconic Grade I-listed structure spanning the dramatic Avon Gorge and dating back to 1864. Tonight, there will be a celebratory ‘Bucks Fizz’ reception at the hotel followed by a three-course dinner with entertainment.
• Day 3
  Christmas Day - Day at leisure with Christmas lunch and buffet dinner - Celebrate Christmas Day however you see fit with a full day under your own steam in your delightful four-star hotel. For an easy-going morning’s excursion, you can set out for a walk around the local area, or perhaps drive into nearby Bristol for a wander along the Avon waterfront. If relaxation is on your mind, you can also enjoy a treatment or two in the hotel’s award-winning spa.  In the early afternoon, join your fellow guests at the hotel restaurant for a ‘Bucks Fizz’ reception with canapés before settling in for an indulgent Christmas lunch. Afterwards, you’ll have another few hours at leisure to spend as you wish ahead of a Christmas buffet later this evening.  
• Day 4
  Boxing Day - Included guided tour of Bath - Have breakfast and then board the coach for an excursion to the nearby city of Bath, UNESCO-listed and named after its ancient Roman-built baths.  The Roman Baths, which were built around 70 AD can be viewed along with a museum displaying artefacts from that period. A towering Gothic-style cathedral, Bath Abbey, will be another stop, as will Pulteney Bridge, one of only a few historic bridges in the world with shops built into it on both sides. You’ll also get to see the iconic Royal Crescent, a semi-circular row of 30 terraced houses looking out over the Royal Victoria Park and the city. You’ll then board the coach and return to the hotel to unwind. This evening, a pre-dinner drink of Prosecco and nibbles will be offered before a three-course dinner enhanced by entertainment.
• Day 5
  Make your way home - Once you've had breakfast, you'll make your own way home.
