Itinerary
- Fly to Canada - Fly to Toronto, meet your tour manager and transfer by coach into the city, heading to your hotel for the next two nights. During this journey, your tour manager will give you a brief introduction of the city and its main sights. Relax and enjoy your first evening in one of North America’s most engaging, cosmopolitan, and cultured metropolises.
- Day at leisure in Toronto - Today you have a free day to explore Toronto. Perhaps see the glittering waterfront developments, the sky-piercing CN Tower and colourful, contrasting neighbourhoods like Greektown and Little Italy. Afterwards, indulge in some shopping in the city's ultra-modern malls, and make the most of the city's cosmopolitan dining options or take in a show - Toronto is Canada's capital of live entertainment.
- Included visit to Niagara Falls - Today’s excursion will be an unforgettable highlight of your tour, as you travel by coach around the lake to wondrous Niagara Falls. Marvel at the spectacular views, perhaps taking an optional 10-minute helicopter ride above the waters, or enjoying the view over lunch from the vantage point of an overlooking restaurant. Later, we'll return to Toronto, where you can perhaps spend the evening enjoying its legendary hospitality in one of the many restaurants.
- Follow the Maple Leaf Trail to Ottawa and Montréal - This morning, you'll board the coach and follow the Maple Leaf Trail that leads past handsome Kingston and north to romantic Ottawa. See the Victorian houses and famous Rideau Canal of Canada’s beautiful administrative capital, before continuing to stylish Montréal, where you'll spend the next two nights.
- Included visit to Québec City - Today’s excursion takes you to the historic Québec City, one of Canada’s oldest settlements, which overlooks the mighty St Lawrence River, its skyline dominated by the monumental Citadelle. Once here, you'll be able to join an optional guided city tour before you explore the narrow, cobbled alleyways of Basse Ville and its hilltop Haute Ville counterpart, which together form the endlessly enthralling Vieux-Québec.
- Fly to Calgary and travel to Banff - Today you'll transfer to Montréal Airport to board the flight west to the oil and cowboy town of Calgary. From here you'll continue through the amazing scenery, travelling by coach up into the heart of the Rockies to exquisite Banff.
- Optional Banff tours - Explore the stunning capital of the Rockies, and its majestic setting, today. Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board the train as you gaze in awe at the majestic scenery, and arrive in Kamloops in the late afternoon to transfer to a comfortable overnight hotel.
- Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer and travel to Vancouver - Re-board the train to continue your spectacular journey to the coast. Highlights will include the mighty Fraser River, the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon, and the stunning coastal ranges that rise up as you near beautiful Vancouver. Once again, you'll enjoy breakfast and lunch on board, and once you arrive in Vancouver, you'll transfer to your next hotel. Canada - Niagara Falls to the Rockies hotels -
Introduction
The hotels used on our tours will meet the standard of a good, three- and four-star European hotel. Rooms will have private bathrooms, telephones and TV. The vast majority will also have tea- and coffee-making facilities. There will always be a bar or restaurant on site or nearby.
The Chelsea Hotel, Toronto (nights 1-3)
Set in a high-rise building, this sleek hotel is located near the CN Tower. Contemporary guestrooms have air conditioning, TVs, safes, tea/coffee-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. A relaxed restaurant serves international dishes, and there’s a coffee shop, a wine bar, and a shaded terrace. Guests also have access to an indoor heated swimming pool and whirlpool, a 24/7 fitness centre, and an outdoor deck with views of the city.
Warwick le Crystale, Montreal (nights 4-5)
Based in the heart of Montreal's lively downtown area, a stone's throw from the popular Bell Centre, this boutique hotel offers the perfect base from which to explore the city. There is a well-appointed spa, including an indoor swimming pool, a terrace hot tub, a sauna and a fitness suite, as well as a sophisticated restaurant which serves modern Thai dishes. Guestrooms are bright and spacious, encompassing kitchenettes with tea/coffee-making facilities, TVs and wireless speakers.
Elk and Avenue Hotel, Banff (nights 6-7)

Whistler's Inn, Jasper (night 8)
Located on the main street and opposite the Jasper train station, this charming hotel, full of character has a striking stone façade. Cosy guestrooms have TVs, tea/coffee-makers and minifridges. Guests can choose from an Italian restaurant, a relaxed eatery, and a bar with live music. On the roof, there are two hot tubs and a steam room, and there is also an on-site gift shop.

Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, Vancouver (nights 10-12)
Housed within two high-rise buildings, this sleek hotel is in downtown Vancouver. Contemporary guestrooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out of the city come with TVs, hairdryers, safes, mini-bars, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. A casual restaurant serves Canadian cuisine, and there is a bar, on-site Starbucks, and a fitness centre with a lap pool, hot tub, and sauna.
Should circumstances require, we reserve the right to accommodate you in a conveniently located, alternative hotel of a similar standard.

Introduction
SilverLeaf Service on the Rocky Mountaineer and a double room for your overnight stay in Kamloops is included in your holiday price. Upgrades and single rooms are available.
On board the Rocky Mountaineer
Take in the views through the picture windows, pore over the detailed maps and route documentation in the information package and enjoy an interpretative commentary on the passing sites from the on-board attendants. Your ticket includes a hot breakfast and lunch, both served seat-side, along with complimentary snacks and beverages, including beer and wine. The coaches are temperature-controlled and each has restroom facilities.
SilverLeaf Service
SilverLeaf Service on the Rocky Mountaineer is included in your holiday price. Relax in your assigned, reclining seats in a custom-designed state-of-the-art single-level domed coach, which offers panoramic views from its oversized windows.
GoldLeaf Service Upgrade
If you choose to upgrade to GoldLeaf Service, you'll enjoy assigned seating in reclining, rotating seats in a custom-designed state-of-the-art bi-level domed coach, which offers panoramic views from its full-length windows, as well as an a la carte breakfast and lunch served in the lower-level private dining room. The domed coach has a spiral staircase and lift to the dome level.
Your Overnight Hotel
Accommodation is arranged by Rocky Mountaineer and will be of a moderate standard. Other accommodations may also be used, including those in the nearby resort of Sun Peaks on certain dates. You will be advised of your overnight accommodation during check-in.
Other Information
Hotel transfer times
The transfer time from Toronto airport to your hotel is approximately 45 minutes, and to Vancouver airport is 45 minutes.
Passports and Visas
When travelling to the USA, British citizens require passports with an integrated chip (shown on the front by a small rectangular symbol beneath the word PASSPORT), valid beyond the return date from the USA. Visas are not normally required for entry, but visitors must apply for an ESTA online with US Immigration at least 72 hours before departure at www.cbp.gov/esta. The current charge is $21 for British Citizens. British subjects and anyone who has a criminal record or has ever been arrested should consult the US Embassy as a visa may be required. Note too that if you have visited North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia or Yemen since March 2011, or Cuba since 12 January 2021, or have dual nationality with any of these countries, you do require a US visa and cannot travel on the Visa Waiver Program.

Tipping
Gratuities are a way of life in North America, and it is generally accepted that they form part of a person's earnings. The customary gratuity for a coach driver is about $8 per person per fay, and for a Tour Manager is about $10 per person per day.
It is normal to tip 15-20 per cent of the bill for a taxi or in a restaurant, and to leave a dollar or so per drink in a bar.
On your flight
All outbound flights depart and arrive on the same day. All return flights leave in the evening and land in the UK the next day. On-board meals will usually include lunch and a snack on outward flights, and dinner and breakfast on flight home. Soft drinks are complimentary, but some airlines will charge for alcoholic drinks.
Luggage allowance
You are permitted to take one suitcase per person on the aircraft, which should not exceed 23kg.
Helicopter flights
Sightseeing flights by helicopter are weight controlled and balanced. Please contact us if you wish to book a helicopter flight and your bodyweight exceeds 250lbs. (In such cases, a seat may have to be left empty, and some companies may charge a premium.
Special requirements
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
Disabled access
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Itinerary changes
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
Changes to your hotel
Should circumstances require, we reserve the right to accommodate you in alternative hotels, of a similar standard, nearby. Full details of your hotels will be sent with your Final Travel Documents.
Hotel rooms
Standard hotel rooms in North America will contain one or two double- or queen-sized beds, and it is not possible to add extra beds to the room. Parties consisting of more than two travellers, but who have only booked one room, will be expected to make use of the two beds provided. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted on any coach forming part of your holiday; regular stops will be made though for your comfort en route. The majority of hotels in North America are non-smoking throughout including in all bedrooms. In general smoking outside is acceptable, but do look out for signs prohibiting this close to public entrances or bus stops.
