Other Information
For 2024 departures, there will be an optional Alexandria excursion.
The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 50 minutes.
British citizens will require a visa to enter Egypt. The current cost is US$25 (approximately £19). You can obtain your visa in advance via the Official Visa2Egypt portal - https://www.visa2egypt.gov.eg/eVisa/Home. You can apply on arrival and make payment in Sterling, US Dollars or Euros but advise us if you plan to do so. Passports must be valid for six months beyond the return date to the UK and contain one blank page for the visa.
Please note that the order of included day-to-day visits on board the cruise is subject to change.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, in particular when visiting the archaeological sites where the ground is often uneven. In many developing countries access is sometimes not as easy as at home and, in some cases, impossible.
If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Note that when boarding your cruise ship too there are usually several steps to be negotiated down from the quayside to the ship's boarding point. Ship's gangways are often narrow and can be steep depending on the river water levels.
Nile river cruise ships do not have a lift and the facilities on board will be housed over four decks - between restaurant in the lower part of the ship to the pool and sundeck up on top. Should you have any concerns whatsoever please do contact us prior to travel.
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
Requirements and advice can vary over time, and from person to person, so please contact your GP about eight weeks before your trip to check whether on any preventive measures.
